Welcome to the Therapii blog! <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

I created Therapii after discovering therapy later in life, and as much value as I was getting during my 50 minutes a week it was never enough. I wanted to be able to ask questions of my therapist when I woke up in the morning or had trouble sleeping, while at the gym or grocery store. I wanted a place to capture experiences during the week that I inevitably forgot by the time our session came around. I wanted more than journaling, I wanted my therapist to be with me whenever I wanted them.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

As ChatGPT and AI began to explode, I played around with a few consumer therapy apps, but they felt too disconnected from the engagement with my therapist. I also experienced that they either avoided anything “challenging” or that it felt like they didn’t have enough guardrails and might do more harm than good. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

So, after some reflection and talking with a few more therapists, I am creating Therapii with the following beliefs<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Mental health therapy is a valuable tool to help people navigate the modern world and improve the quality of their life and their relationships.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Mental health delivery is experiencing a crisis as demand exceeds capacity, but capacity is constrained by the number of therapists and how many patients they can see. <\/span><\/li>\n
  • Ai represents a transformational technology that can address some of the challenges facing mental health providers today, particularly the limited capacity of therapists to engage with patients individually. <\/span><\/li>\n
  • Mental Health Therapy is a skill requiring significant training and experience, and offering therapeutic mental health services without human oversight is potentially very dangerous. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    <\/span><\/p>\n

    Therapii will be nimble and responsive to our users, but we will not “move fast and break things.” We will never forget that the true mission is to responsibly serve the patient and to improve the patient\/therapist relationship, and that our role is to augment that relationship with technology. <\/span><\/p>\n

    <\/span><\/p>\n

    More to come soon, but I am super excited to be kicking this off! We will be building some social media channels in time, but for now join our Waiting List to stay in touch and always get the latest information<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
